Social Media for Travel and Tourism

Marketing in the travel industry has shifted – where the stories used to be told through advertising and PR, they’re now being told through the eyes of our guests on their social media channels. That presents a significant opportunity for travel and tourism professionals to harness that power, generate stories that people want to share with their friends, and spread our messages in a way that people will engage with.

In this half-day workshop, we’ll cover some examples of what some of the best properties are doing to drive their businesses, and we’ll also talk about the unique stories that are already coming out of Trinidad to the world.

What you’ll learn:

– Getting started on the 4 major channels

– Selecting the right channel(s) for your brand

– Creating the types of content that people will love

– Using user generated content to your advantage

– Leveraging small budgets to get big results in social media advertising

About the Facilitator

Conner founded and runs the Digital Communications agency: Junction where he builds strategies and training for organizations ranging from local retailers to international brands. He’s been starting and running businesses since he turned a summer job painting houses into his first corporation at age 17. What he identified in those early-internet days was that the success of all businesses hinge on their ability to generate stories that people want to share.

Digital media has simply made those stories more powerful, and the communities that are sharing them more visible.

With Junction, he’s bringing those worlds together, building and educating on Digital Communications that equip organizations to show up powerfully.

When he’s out of the office, he serves on boards for startups, teaches Digital Strategy at Capilano University, social media at BrainStation, Vancouver and is an avid speaker on digital communications.
