Gerrel Saunders awarded Golden Pepper

Pepper’s Digital Graphics Lead, Gerrel Saunders, has been honoured with the Company’s ‘Golden Pepper Award’ at their recently held Christmas luncheon.

“Each year, we search among our team to acknowledge those that best represent what we strive for at Pepper. It is a great find to have a team member that does whatever it takes to serve our clients, but a rare find to have one that exemplifies everything our company stands for. At Pepper, it is our aim to not only help our clients’ brands soar, but to act as if the brands were our own, and Gerrel lives this”, said Akil Edwards, Digital Marketing Manager at Pepper.

Before joining Pepper, Saunders served as an adjunct lecturer and social media designer at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine.  His role included teaching Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator classes and workshops for both the certificate and degree courses. As social media designer he managed content strategy, delivering scheduled creative assets for the department’s social media platforms. In 2015, he conceptualized and designed the artwork for Nike’s “Dipped in Gold” campaign for Footlocker.  He has also held digital designer positions in the entertainment, media and publishing sectors.

“I was not surprised that Gerrel was awarded the Golden Pepper at all. I could tell he was a Pepper from his very first day! Gerrel does not settle for just doing things well but pushes himself to do great work. Even with the sometimes-overwhelming demands of our industry, Gerrel stays positive and makes things happen”, intimated Keitha Oliver, Client Services Lead at Pepper.

On accepting the award, Saunders said, “I was very grateful that Pepper showed so much confidence in me when I was hired, and the workplace environment has confirmed to me that I made the right choice in joining Pepper.” He said he will continue to challenge himself to keep growing and sharpening his craft.
