[icon name=icon-comments] In October, the Carib Brewery hosted Oktoberfest, the German Festival that celebrates good beer, putting a “Trini” twist on the Bavarian festival. The aim of the event was to raise awareness of the national and international joys of beer culture.

His Worship, Mayor Alderman Louis Lee Sing, Mayor of Port of Spain, Global Brands Director of Carib Brewery, Douglas Henderson and His Excellency Stefan Schlüter, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, were on hand at the launch to declare Carib Brewery’s “Celebration of Beer” open.

Date: Oktoberfest culminated in a two-day fest where patrons indulged in the activities at Adam Smith Square. Festival goers enjoyed draft beer and German foods, as well as the authentic sounds of Bavarian live folk music from the German Band, Werdenfels-Quartet. There was also a taste of local flavour, as steelpan and tassa music were also a part of the festival’s entertainment.
