Fixed it before it gets nasty

This is one heck of an ad for Geek Squad.  According to juggle.com, the Geek Squad is a subsidiary of the Best Buy Company and was originally founded on June 16, 1994 by Robert Stephens. The company offers various computer-related services and accessories for residential and commercial clients.  They offer in-home, online and remote/over the phone services for PC repair, troubleshooting, data rescue, in-home PC setup, and wireless networking.

And like geeks they look and act a certain way.  Black and white uniforms, branded volkswagens and ads that are edgy.  Like the one above.  How more potent and effective to make your brand positioning come alive than taking profanity and cleaning it up like the geeks do everyday with customers problems.  Brilliant!  Brilliant!  Brilliant!

As advertisers we are always tempted to go linear and literal and dumb it down for our customers because we don’t trust them to “get it”.  What if we gave them more credit for having some smarts. And have some fun doing it as well like the geeks.
