I lived in Canada for 7 years and have seen it work. And it’s still working. Canada legislates how much Canadian content a radio and TV station must play by law. And it can work in T&T.
What are the results in Canada? All sorts of musical genres and artistes have risen from nothing, because of the oxygen that protection brings to their music and film industry.
Minister Peters (now Douglas), our gospel, chutney, calypso, jazz, rock and soul singers, writers and musicians need some oxygen. And so do our film makers. In my opinion, there is nothing more important than you can do with your time. Our music and film ship is sinking (or the patient is dying). We need your help Captain! (now we need your help Doctor)
