What was the tipping point for the People’s Partnership victory?

Tipping Point

Tipping PointMalcolm Gladwell in his book, The Tipping Point describe tipping points as “the levels at which the momentum for change becomes unstoppable.  Gladwell defines a tipping point as a sociological term: “the moment of critical mass, the threshold, the boiling point.”

And if we could go into the collective minds and hearts of T&T citizens, where would that point be located.  Here are a few possibilities:

  • Patrick Manning’s meeting with Calder Hart and the latter’s departure the following day
  • The Rowley Account in the Cayman’s hoax
  • “If this was the other platform they would be playing barman give me a Guinness and Puncheon” (Patrick Manning to PNM meeting)
  • The Rowley Meeting in Diego Martin (“There will be time for Court Martial”)
  • “They have resurrected Makandal Dagga from the political dust bin” (Patrick Manning to PNM meeting)
  • The press conference and evidence presented on the Church in Guanapo linking the PM and Calder Hart  to the church
  • The commandeering of electronic media for ‘state of the nation” address
  • “PM may mean Project Manager” (Patrick Manning in LIVE interview)
  • “Vote for PNM but not PM” (Rowley and London to respective PNM meetings)
  • “I’m afraid PNM might lose” (Rowley to PNM meeting)
  • “We will rise” (Kamla Persad-Bissessar every night for 5 weeks)

If not one of these, what was the tipping point?
