It seems that on a daily basis I am being shown a positive side to the social media phenomenon. I must confess, my views are slowly being swayed from the distrust I had of it. Today’s installment of “Convert Barry” is a very emotional one. This morning a co-worker showed me a Youtube video of a panhandler at the side of a highway in America who held a sign saying that he had the God given gift of a golden voice. It was no false claim.
I was blown by his extremely professional and charming voice, despite the condition of his teeth. I did think or hope that someone would pick him up in that land of opportunity and offer him a job to use that gift. I did not expect a few hours later to see that he actually did get the opportunity.
Thanks to exposure on Youtube, a homeless, former drug user and alcohol abuser gets a second chance at life. Social media, you’re making a believer out of me.

Should that be the case Dennis, then he definitely would be a social media guru.
