I’m on vacation in Canada and went to a seminar organized by Enterprise Toronto on Low Cost Marketing Tools You can use to Grow Your Business. The presenter Andrew Patricio www.bizlaunch.ca was very interesting. Basically, he iterated what we all know already. The most important aspect is know your target. Who and where are your customers? He also identified 2 questions.

  1. What do you do? (in 30 seconds)
  2. What makes your business different? (why should I buy from you?)

Many entrepreneurs present at the seminar could not answer these questions even though they are fundamental to your business model. We are so occupied with meeting targets and growing the business that we fail to identify the basics. In 30 seconds, could you say what you do differently? If you can’t, then why should your customers or clients support you? Given the economic downturn, the low cost tools identified include: Networking – 75% of business in Canada is done this way
