- We do not believe customers expect it.
- We don’t believe Trinidadians could ever change. (we believe it’s in our DNA to give poor service or no service)
- Our competition is bad. So there’s no competitive disadvantage.
- It is hard work that takes a long time to see returns. We like overnight fixes.
- Employees leave, so why train them.
- It’s too costly and it “does not make a difference”.
- It’s not as sexy as marketing with its new product launches. (“who wants to sit through days of training when people could be doing work?”)
- It would mean giving employees the power to solve things. And we want power centralized.
- Customers won’t pay for it.
- We don’t have good trainers. (the reason we may not have good trainers is we have not made the field attractive enough for people to make a good living from it, aka a self-fulfilling prophecy)

Agree, we need to understand the value of service and hunger to give it, beyond just lip service

Personally I try to give excellent customer service. Reason no 9 gets to me at times tho. One guy once got mad at me that I was charging to fix his stuff..even tho he did not buy anything at my store, nor did i know him..but because I was in the same field as the guy that sold it to him, somehow that ment I shoudl fix it free of charge..another guy thought he should not have to pay more than 200 for a computer monitor in trinidad becuase the price was $190 on amazon and $10 for shipping… even when I explained that was US.. somehow this guy missed that $1USD =/= $1TTD ….not sure if he was trolling or just really stupid but for these times all i can do is /facepalm. The sad this is i have to /facepalm roughly ten times a month.

I believe in Customer Service 100%. Its the one thing that will make you stand out to your customers. These days anyone can buy everything anywhere. Customer Service is the experience which will place you a standard above your nearest competitor, create customer loyalty and give your brand great momentum for referral marketing. Without it, brands and companies will have limited sustainability in this economy
